English Language Challenges

 

To have taken English, after years of school, was difficult for me to be able to understand the teachers, although I like English very much, when I left school, I wanted to venture to the United States, looking for a job to study Music there, but there were changes in my life, which made me stay here to study.

 

I think it is necessary in the university, there are not enough tools, and in my case I can remember something from the school, I do not speak this language to perfection but I try to understand something of what they speak to me, sometimes I do not understand, but it is part of the adaptation to a language and any other thing that we study.

 

The use of blogs, has helped me a lot, to meet my colleagues and the challenge of reading everything in English, I had never made a blog, it helped me to develop that technological part.

 

I must improve several aspects of my English, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I should take back the basic things of English because I have forgotten how to do the correct conjugations.

 

I use English frequently outside of class, because there are texts of counterpoint, composition and analysis. These books are all English, sometimes it is very rare to translate them, they turn out to be things that entangle me and in the end I take away the things that I can understand.

 

I also use it to sing, in specific music of Henry Purcell, this is a British composer, British English is more difficult to pronounce I think, But it helps a lot.

Changes that you'd do to your program

 

 

In the case of our arts faculty, it is necessary to have a sudden change.

 

The work of a student of musical composition, is to be able to abstract all tools and knowledge of teachers, but we are in a great predicament, when we face popular music, I mention it because the arts faculty is focused on learning music, I do not want to dedicate myself to this particular music, but we are in an era where music encompasses several styles, and one can not be unaware of that.

 

The workload of the studies, I consider that it is not bad, if not the time of each course, they’re too long, in my case I find that electroacustics should be elective and not a course that lasts two years, one is enough to handle the tools of this matter.

The infrastructure of our faculty is not adequate, the spaces are very small, and the materials of execution, the pianos, are in very poor condition, those that are better are those of the teachers' rooms and with luck.

 

Of the 6 years that I have in this faculty, I have seen very little technological advance, for example the electroacustics room has two speakers, but they are in very bad conditions, what changed two years ago are the computers of the library, which Save but the internet falls fails.

 

The teaching methods are not adequate, lack an induction towards teachers, in my case I suffer from attention deficit so it is difficult for me to focus on some theoretical courses, where teachers are not faced with these problems presented by students, this does not Happens with all teachers, is very rare, because with older teachers I have had better relationships, it may be because of their years of experience, and also that they no longer compete with students, like other teachers of this faculty.

Great places to eat with Junaeb/a restaurant review.

I have not been benefited by this wonderful card, So many of my colleagues have it and I envy them, Well, when I entered the university I started looking for many joints to have lunch.   

 The joint  that I like, is the pizzeria italissimo located in san martin, near the tube santa ana, It is a nice place, with Italian music, and lots of variety of pizzas, This is like the poor local, because next door is the same place but with ultra expensive menus, which my pocket does not give.So I settle for the pizzas and cheaper food from this place.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

The other place that I thought very good, is a Peruvian restaurant, very homy, and popular. This restaurant is located in sotero del rio 471, it is very cheap with 1500 pesos you can eat salads, soups and desserts. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Until last year I liked to go to the subway in front of our faculty, they were very cheap the sandwiches, sorry that it is no longer in this mall.   

 

 Another place to enjoy half an hour, this is not a joint for students, but if they want to eat well and their parents have just given their allowance can visit the restaurant where my dad works. The location is Cruz-Coke # 350, Santiago, It is not very cheap but if you want to conquer a yal through her palate, this is the right place.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

This summer I am going to travel abroad, to Buzios (Brazil), four hours from Rio Janeiro, it’s a very interesting place and in its people too, also it’s a place with a huge Diversity of flora and fauna.

I really like this place, it reminds me when I travel to Easter Island, but the difference of these two places is that buzios even though it looks like an island,it's a peninsula.


There are many places, but the commercial ones do not interest me at all,I just want to tour the beaches and islands and taste the typical food of the area.

The places that I have already studied to visit are;


Geribá

Is a beach with crystalline waters, which gives a little fear for the sharks, I hope I do not cross with one,besides this beach has many waves which I love,I swim with flippers,because it costs me to float,if it is weird but it happens.This beach is ideal for surfing bodyboard etc.





 











Azeda y Azedinha

This beach is calmer, I like because I can enjoy the marine fauna,I like to snorkel and dive to see the amount of goldfish,it is incredible to be able to enjoy nature in this way.

The other thing I would like to do in buzios is to travel the peninsula by boat,I think it is an interesting adventure.

This beach is quite silmilar to Azeda and Azedinha,for its waves and water sports,it is more texten and it surrounds a small hill which gives a more panoramic view.

street art

 

 

street art, do not call my attention, It can be lonely for my character more calm and enjoy things more, not many people, but there are things that I find interesting, as popular bands I've heard in the gam. I do not remember as is called the group,but their music was a mix of ancient rituals, Mapuches and Pehuenches.

 

 

I also like graffiti, but not invasive and without a poetic context. There is graffiti that we transmit only violence, and that loses sensibiliad appreciate this street art.

 

 

 

 

 

I really like the graffiti that is in the fine arts tube, The Chilean graffiti artist Inti Castro Andean plasma Mexican influences with elements like skulls and arpilleras, Also this artist, has worked in Poland, Norway And puerto rico.

 

 

In this case the works I associate the culture mexican how the  picture Palace of fine arts,painting mural "Catharsis" of Jose Clemente Orozco.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think that the street arts is a place for develop very arts, the people enjoy this events, in my case I preferer calm without so many people.

Postgraduate studies

 

 

I would like to focus on making music for films, specially to have tools on character interaction with the music, and its audiovisual process.

 

In addition, other techniques are handled in the orchestration, linked to popular music.

 

Another thing I would like to study in the future is conducting with the teacher Eduardo Browne, I think a composer is vital to conduct their own works.I have always liked to lead, some time ago I was working with the orchestra of Puente Alto, and there I learned a lot about how to work the problems of execution,tuning etc.

 

I would like to study these careers in the United States and Spain, for this, I will make a student exchange within another year, so I’ll have to see the possibilities of studying in these places.

 

I think this move will give me many tools, if I go to America I will have to take intensive courses, but I think for now it would be easier for me to go to Spain, because a friend can give me lodgings in the home of their parents, this would make everything easier, more importantly the economy.

 

I also plan to study something totally away from music, something that also can provide me of an economic livelihood, could give the psu again and apply for veterinary medicine, also I really like this career, and I think it has an economic livelihood. But I think to study something new, it would be difficult, now only I have to work to reach my goals and finish my career in musical composition.

My future job

 

 

 

The dream job I would like to have is to be film music composer, to work with the orchestra and create new music but with influences from my favorite composer Jhon Williams. This composer has done an extraordinary job with handling the scenes and music,  it has helped me to develop techniques of composition and orchestration.

 

I guess in a recording studio, with a symphonic orchestra with many instruments of different ethnicities, such as Chinese instruments, indian, russian etc.

 

I think the possibilities for greater creativity in the composition,are mastering the techniques of many instruments, not only classic, if not folkloric and also instruments that can be created,from an interesting sonority.

 

Hans Zimmer is other composer of films, He works with a mixed orchestra, which introduces variety of ethnic instruments

 

This work is interesting, because of traveling, in my case I’d like to travel to Spain, US, Germany and France,I think in these countries film music is having great importance. Wages in other countries are higher, but it is also difficult to get into this medium, because the competition is very high.

 

I do not want to be rich composing, if I don’t see evolution in my music, and grow as a person and composer. There are composers who just want to make noise with the instruments, and that lost all sensitivity of the listener.

M U S I C

 

 

The musical style I like it classical music, I also like a little rock, but the classical music It is really I hear, both are interesting. Also one of the rock bands that I found interesting is Scorpions, who played with the Orchestra Philharmonic berlin, This symphonic rock I liked about the whole issue (Deadly Sting Suite) and (Send Me An Angel)

I think listening and playing an instrument lead us to another emotional level, I explain, play an instrument claims to have a certain sensitivity to convey that melody, with an expression of sound and dynamics that involves music,I prefer both, touch and hear.

 

The greatest musician was Mozart,because his music was one of the most important of its period (Romanticism), Bach also provided the way to express Counterpoint, in his fugues and corals.

 

The music brand me one of the most important espisodios of my life, was the best ritalin,I say this because as a child and so far I have attention deficit, this reassured me and opened an intellectual development, even though it cost me, I come forward in my career as a composer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BLOG II (IV SEMESTER)

The best Concert

 My best concert was in the year 2010, was in the theater university of chile, in the tube Baquedano. I remember that having 14 year , when was to see the concert.

I was not the the artist if not that was the orchestra symphonic of chile conduced  for Eduardo Browne, the work was the firt symphony classical of composer prokofiev. This symphony with the title (symphony classical) is a work of the century  XX, retaking the form, harmony  and composition the classic period , making allusion  to the composer of classic  period as Mozart, haydn. It is also interesting of his work as a composer, mix a style modern and classic.

I felt  very  rousing for the movements of the symphony, in especial the second  movements  Larghetto ( slow) the string play the melody, is a melody sad, but the orchestration It a color especial and touching.

This concert was special, enjoy  the orchestra, and listen the big symphony one  of the my favorite composer (Prokofiev).

Semester IV

"A country I'd like to visit"

 I would like to visit the country is sudafrica,because the

 place is impresionates,for example the people in especial

 Zulu is a tribe KwaZulu-Natal,in Sudafrica.

 



 No specific what the place but I read 

 enough people of their tribes and Animals, if I had a 

 lot of money I would like to help children and elders of 

 that place, Would make a a foundation of support for people

 in social risk, or that I like to do is preoteccion baby 

 rhinos orphaned by their mothers killing their horns to
